I had an incredible time working with Nancy and Josh at their beautiful backyard wedding! It is always an honor and pleasure when old family friends ask me to be their wedding photographer, and this was no exception!
Nancy and Josh’s passion, love, and commitment were wonderfully transparent as they committed their lives to each other. Their union will stand the test of time, as did their parents. Anyone who knows Nancy and Josh knows that they are incredibly caring and kind. This was evidenced by the hundreds of loved ones who joined them to celebrate this special day.
The wedding itself was held in the historic Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, beautifully built in 1896. This was extra special for the couple since Nancy grandparents grew up in that church. The exquisite stained glass cast beautiful light in this Gothic inspired building.
Nancy’s family has always been go big or go home! Instead of going to wedding venue, they actually built one in their backyard! Backyard outdoor wedding photography is always one of my favorites, as it provides an intimate yet fun environment. During the reception, everyone celebrated under a rustic barn frame and ate delicious barbecue beneath a tented canopy. The outdoor reception was awesome and tons of fun cousins came from all over the country. Even a little rain couldn’t stop the partying atmosphere! The dancing was hopping late into the night as the fog rolled in.
