Lauren and Daniel flew in from San Francisco for a winter engagement session. It is always wonderful to get to know our couples and their personalities through an engagement session. When we show up for their wedding, it is like meeting up with friends! We started the shoot at Sagamore Hills. There had been a light dusting of snow the night before, which set the perfect winter scenery for photography. We then progressed to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, shooting around Brandywine Falls.
Congratulations Dustin and Danielle! I had the amazing privilege of photographing Dustin dropping down on one knee in the rain last night on New Year’s Eve. A few days before Dustin and I did some location scouting at the Sheraton and decided to use a private balcony over looking the falls and gorge of the Cuyahoga River. Their friends setup special lighting and photos help set the mood and memories. It was pouring the whole night as I waited outside for them (maybe like 10 minutes, but I was in my favorite Outdoor Research jacket). It was simply amazing! Hope to see you two soon!
We had a wonderful engagement shoot with Jennifer and Jimmy at the University of Akron. During the shoot, we got to learn all about Jimmy’s current research project as well as hearing what Jennifer was up to at the bank.
It was really fun watching Jennifer and Jimmy talk about their university days, as they met at the University of Akron. They would talk about different buildings they had stayed in or had classes in.
This adventurous couple is fully in their element when they are outdoors. One of my absolute favorite parts of wedding photography is getting to know some really awesome people, and Erin and Derrick are no exception. It was great to do their engagement photography on some of the trails at the Ledges in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Blythe and Barret had a beautiful engagement session in beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The weather forecast called for 10% chance of rain and as soon as we started the rain began. They were such troopers! Fortunately, we were under tree cover in carpets in bluebells.
It was wonderful to have the opportunity to get to know Meghan and Ben when we shot their engagement photography. Meghan and Ben met through a co-worker. This friend introduced them and they went out on a mini-date to Arabica in downtown Willoughby. As Brian and I say, when it works, it works!
Beatrice and Bobby were a total blast working with in beautiful Brecksville Reservation! We love working with adventurous couples that love to get out in nature! They said they were up for some off-trail hiking to some very unique locations.
We love adventure. Adventure photography with awesome couples is the best! Lauren and David were a delight! Lauren's favorite season is winter and wanted to celebrate her engagement with some adventurous photography in the cold and snow. It was a bit of a challenge this year getting snow yet not bitter, bitter cold.
Mary and Dominique were a tremendous couple to work with! We photographed their engagement photos at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Even though it was a bit chilly outside, we spent the day laughing and having a blast!
I had the opportunity of spending a delightful morning with Mercedes and Kevin. They are a hard working couple who are launching off their own business together. I first met Mercedes when I was meeting with my partnering seamstress. Mercedes was working with Amy Sagnes at Sags Originals. Mercedes was showing her creativity making bridal alterations.
Inspired by Elsa from Disney's Frozen, Mercedes wanted a fairy tale-themed engagement session (in the snow!) but we kept getting hit by huge snow storms and sub zero weather! So, we opted for a spring wildflower bloom surrounded by impressive cliffs and rock formations.
